Why we love Hickling! Lound Farm is on the edge of the lovely Broadland village of Hickling – a great place to live and work or, of course, to visit and stay a while at any time of the year.Hickling is a large village with a mix of old and new homes, many thatched and using the local flints. We have a thriving community of businesses and village clubs. It is scattered amongst wide open spaces, fields and farms, marsh and common land and of course Hickling Broad, the largest of the Norfolk Broads and home to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust National Nature Reserve, a great place to spot the rare Swallowtail butterflies in the summer. We also have a beautiful 14th Century church and our newer Methodist Church sits on the site of an ancient clay pit now boasting a picnic site, wild flowers and hungry ducks.
Plus, we’re only a couple of miles from the sandy beach at Sea Palling with its buckets and spades in the summer and seals can sometimes be seen in the winter.
How lucky are we?
