We love the Worstead Festival. It’s quite amazing that a little village has been holding such a huge event for 50 years! This year it’s on the weekend of 25th/26th July and its well worth a visit if you’ve never been.
You’ll see heavy horses, vintage vehicles, crafts and an art show, animals, traditional “sideshows” as well as marvel at the chainsaw sculpture and other displays in the Grand Ring, listen to music and stories and don’t miss the Dog Show, Davenports Magic Tent, Science in a Suitcase, Norwich Time Travellers and the Norfolk Parkour Alliance. This year the Norwich Medieval Association will be setting up their Medieval encampment so you might bump into a Knight in armour.
No need to take a picnic as there will be the Best of Norfolk Food & Drink marquee where you can watch how some of the best local Chefs in Norfolk create their special dishes and buy from a range of artisan Norfolk producers showcasing bread, cheese, fish, wine, chutneys, veg, cakes and more. To celebrate 50 years, you can even take a look at a 1960s kitchen showing what we were all eating and drinking back in the sixties – if you can remember back that far!
