Here is some news from some regular guests who recently stayed in Cowman’s Cottage and got in touch to tell us about their fabulous wildlife experiences.
Another fabulous stay at Cowman’s Cottage. We came especially to find a Norfolk Hawker – not difficult to see why it’s sometimes called a green eyed hawker! So got my ‘target’ species this year, but we just couldn’t put a foot wrong anywhere we went, with some wonderful views of Swallowtails, marsh harriers and seals.. The highlight though was right on the doorstop – a late evening walk down the track and we saw the usual harriers and Chinese water deer but also a couple of hares close up, a crane making its way back to Hickling (against a red sunset – what an incredible sight), a barn owl (glad to see this as we haven’t seen one round the farm for a while) then a first for us – a muntjac deer stepped out of your farm yard and on to the road in front of the cottage just as we were getting back. Everything we saw was on your land I think. Thanks again for a great stay – looking forward to the next time.
